Jean Arp’s Ptolemee II (1961) sold to Chris Eykyn of Eykyn Maclean for $2.24 million (est. $1.5-2 million). 

 

 

RETURNING TO AUCTION

 

 Claude Monet’s Matinee sur la Seine (1896) sold for $20.6 million (est. $18–25 million). It last sold at Sotheby’s New York in November 2000 for $5.7 million.

 

 

Fernand Léger’s Le Dernier jaune sold for $5.87 million (est. $6-8 million), backed by a Sotheby’s guarantee. It last sold in the Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge auction at Christie’s Paris in 2009 for €3.7 million.
